History in my mirror

By Tomas Karkalas

History and art are inseparable fellows. They illustrates each our step. Such comprehension should heal many, because it deals with the human mindset for quiting with the blindness forever. Unfortunately, not many enjoy the good eyesight today. Is that not the ridiculous? The challenging warning.

What had happened once upon a time should help us to see brighter the current affairs, yet how many look at the ancestors for the help on modern highway?
The art showrooms store our feedback, yet the illiteracy shut the door to many.

I frequently look through the window and rejoice over the life, yet what profit can these news bring to you?

It may be said, while the fine arts deal with the questions, the history register the symbols. We need just to open the eyes - to recognize ourselves in our teachers and to see next to us as ourselves, who are grateful for the divine Spirit, who indwells in each of us to comfort and guide our steps. That's what makes our being the mesmerizing. Just remind the history in the mirror.

I was born in 1955 in Lithuania and started to grow. Unfortunately the head trauma mixed the typical order of events in 1974 … That could be the end, yet God returned me to life after some walk on the edge of the death. Thus while living with the disabilities, I share not the complaints for my current state of health, but thank for the light I hear now. Thus my art is the meditation in color, where all pictures are the footmarks of the love. The fine arts make the sick the rich with the hearty ‘Hi, my dear!’ It‘s our love one to other that defines the depth of the steps we leave in life. My pictures help me to find myself in my surroundings by navigating by the eternities in the modern world. I hope you will recognize yourself in my paintings as well and will enjoy the light too.
